Manual Handling Workshop

This short 1.5 hour Manual Handling Workshop is for anyone who needs to lift, lower, carry, move, hold or restrain an object as part of their work. After a brief overview of manual handling controls and a demonstration of safe manual handling techniques, your staff will practice lifting typical items found in the workplace.

This practical hands on workshop is delivered on-site by a very experienced safety specialist who is also a qualified physiotherapist.

  1. What is Manual Handling?
  2. An overview of legislation and the Manual Handling code of practice
  3. The body and how it moves, bio-mechanics and posture
  4. Manual Handling Risk factors and Risk Management
  5. Safe Manual Handling Techniques
  6. Practical exercises

This course is delivered in English. Participants will require comprehension and reading skills to successfully complete the training. There are no other prerequisites or co-requisites.
