We will guide you through key responsibilities relating to emergencies for project personnel, and important key documents pertaining to emergency management.

  • Identifying Potential Emergencies: Learn how to assess and identify potential emergencies specific to construction sites, including fires, structural collapses, hazardous material exposure, medical incidents, and more. Developing an awareness of what could go wrong is the first step in ensuring proper preparedness.

  • Preventing Emergencies from Occurring: Discover strategies for reducing the likelihood of emergencies using the hierarchy of controls. Gain an understanding of dealing with fires and how to minimise the likelihood of them.

  • Preparing for Emergencies: This topic will focus on the importance of emergency response planning. You will learn about key elements of effective emergency procedures (ERPs) and why they are important, as well as emergency training requirements, emergency equipment and resourcing and inspecting and maintaining emergency equipment.

  • Dealing with Emergencies and Their Aftermath: Gain the knowledge to respond effectively during an emergency. This topic covers key aspects of emergency response, including first aid, evacuations, and communication strategies. Additionally, we will discuss how to manage the aftermath, including supporting affected workers and conducting incident investigations to prevent future occurrences.
