Many companies concentrate their OH&S resources and training towards staff who work in the front end of their business (ie contruction workers, retail and hospitality workers etc) but overlook the safety of their office based staff.
Although the office environment is generally less hazardous than other working environments, they can and do contain hazards that cause serious injuries to thousands of Australian Workers each year.
Course Content:
PeopleSafe Australia's three hour Introduction to Office Safety practical workshop will provide office based workers with a greater understanding of:
- Their OHS responsibilities under NSW OHS legislation
- The typical hazards they face in the office (and more importantly how to
eliminate or control them) such as Manual Handling, Ergonomics,
Hazardous Substances, Electrocution, Harassment and Discrimination.
- Evacuation and First Aid procedures.
This Office Safety workshop can be customised to suit your company's specific requirements. It is practically based and all participants undertake a short safety walk of their work areas to identify hazards and note the locations of their First Aid Kits and Fire Fighting Equipment.
Who should attend this course?
Anyone who works in an office.
